A little Sunset history

Sunset became the heart of Vancouver's Punjabi and South Asian community from the 1950s onward, and its Punjabi Market — 'Little India' — took root when the first shop opened on Main Street in 1970. The first bilingual Punjabi-and-English street signs in Canada went up at Main and 49th in 1993.
